The historic community of Greensburg is situated centrally in the state of Kentucky in Green County. Green County holds many sites and records of historical significance, some of which are listed on the National Register, including the Oldest Courthouse West of the Allegheny Mountains.
The county was part of the western frontier and produced Mentor Graham, the only formal teacher of Abraham Lincoln. For Civil War enthusiasts Green County is the home and gravesite of General Hobson, a highly regarded general in the War Between the States.
